Tier 2 – Network Administrator/Client Manager

Tier 2 is the level that deals most directly with clients and must have the best Customer Service skills of all levels.  Client Management and Project Management fall into Tier 2 and the skill level to manage existing entire technology environment equally well is the minimum requirement.  The right candidate for this position should be equally competent discussing technology with an engineer as they are explaining technology with the client in layman’s terms.  An extremely high working skill set on Active Directory/DNS/DHCP/LDAP, Terminal Server, Exchange Server configs, troubleshooting and installation are necessary server skills along with the hardware skills of the underlying server architecture.  Tier 2 is a cumulative position that should have a working knowledge of all Tier 1 activities as well as the willingness to work on workstation issues on a regular basis.  Experience with Windows Servers 2003/2008 as well as Windows XP through Windows 7 are minimum requirements.

• Servers — 2003/2008 Active Directory/DNS/LDAP/Certificates/DHCP/TS/SQL Server/Exchange (Medium Level)
• Virtualization — VM/ESXi and all associated tools, Thin Clients & zero clients experience
• Desktops — XP/Vista/Win7 deplyoment/implementation/imaging/3rd party apps + MSOffice (Expert Level)
• Infrastructure — Firewalls/Routers/OSI Layers/Switching at all layers/Vlans/Voice/ACL’s/VPN/Internal Routing Protocols (Entry-Mid Level)
• Network Implementation — Pre-sales/design/installation (Entry-Mid Level)
• Network Monitoring — SNMP/SysLogs/event logs/Netflow/rmon/etc. Network Management tools such as Openview/Solarwinds Ent or similar.
• BUDR — Extensive experience designing, maintaining and testing entire backup and disaster recovery across multiple platforms and vendors.
• Certifications –Comptia A+/Server+/Network+/Project+, MCSE & MCITP.
